TCF TEST SERIES

The Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF) is an official French language proficiency test used to assess non-native speakers’ knowledge of French. It is commonly used for academic purposes, immigration, or employment. Here is a general outline of the TCF syllabus, covering the different sections of the test:

 

TCF Writing (Expression écrite)

The writing section includes 3 tasks, and the evaluation is based on the following criteria:

Task 1: Writing a Letter
Candidates are required to write a personal or formal letter based on a given prompt.

Task 2: Writing an Email
In this task, candidates must compose an email responding to a specific situation or request.

Task 3: Writing an Essay
Candidates are tasked with writing a short essay on a given topic, demonstrating their ability to develop arguments and express ideas clearly.

 

 

1. Nature of the Test:

  • The test aims to objectively evaluate a candidate's writing proficiency in French
  • The tasks are designed to reflect real-life writing situations, such as writing emails, letters, and essays

 

2.Format:

  •   Task 1: Email  (approx. 100-150 words) 30 minutes.
  •   Task 2: Letter (approx. 80-120 words) 20 minutes.
  •   Task 3: Essay (approx. 250-300 words) 60 minutes.

 

 

3. Assessment Criteria:

  •    Cohesion and coherence
  •    Vocabulary, Grammar, Spelling and punctuation
  •    Clarity and Style
  •    Creativity and Engagement

 

4. Time Allowed:

  • Total time for tasks is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
